“Death in Multiples”

In Death in Multiples, Meredith Sellers explores symbols of memento mori and mass image dispersion in historical Dutch Golden Age prints. Through juxtaposition of still lifes alongside contemporaneous images of colonial brutality and present-day stock photos of the natural world, Sellers considers the seeds of violence and destruction in Western capitalistic consumer culture through the medium of print.
The exhibit features new paintings and two new print editions created in the printshop at Pressure Club.
